Over the weekend

There was a lot of excitement in the air about sports over the weekend. In the NBA, the Cavaliers started the weekend off with a bang with a 96-95 win over the Magic on Friday. Lebron James hit a 3 point shot with 1.0 seconds left in the game to even up the series (1-1). Then on Saturday, the Lakers made free throws down the stretch to beat the Nuggets 103-97 to go up (2-1) in their series. On Sunday, it was the Magic downing the Cavaliers at home 99-89 to go up (2-1) in that series. Tonight's game is Game 4 of the Lakers/Nuggets.

Now in the NHL, there was a OT game on Friday that the Blackhawks took over the Red Wings 4-3 even though the Red Wings still lead the series (2-1). On Saturday, the Penguins thrashed the Hurricanes 6-2 to go up on the series (3-0). Then on Sunday, the Red Wings blasted the Blackhawks 6-1 to take the series up to (3-1). No games tonight.

Over in the MLB, the Yankees lost on Friday 7-3 to the Phillies; the Yankees won on Saturday 5-4, but lost on Sunday in 11 innings 4-3 to take their record to (25-19). Now their focus is on a series with the Rangers.

Till later,

Rusty Butler
