Shocks and Awes

There were some jaw-droppers and exits in sports the past couple of days. In the NBA, the Magic stood tall on their home court and beat the Cavaliers 116-114 in OT on Tuesday to go up in the series (3-1) to all but take the series. On Wednesday, the Lakers rallied past the Nuggets 103-94 to put them in front (3-2) in their series. Tonight, the Cavaliers try to stay in the series in Game 5 against the Magic.

Over in the NHL, there were a couple of series-enders to make up the Stanley Cup Finals. First, the Penguins blasted the Hurricanes one more time 4-1 on Tuesday to take the series (4-0). Then the Red Wings finished off the Blackhawks at home 2-1 in OT on Wednesday to take their series (4-1). So it is a repeat of last year's Finals and it should be a classic. The first game is on Saturday.

Finally, in the MLB, the Yankees were beat 7-3 on Tuesday and won 9-2 on Wednesday to improve their record to (27-20). Their next series begins on Friday.

Till later,

Rusty Butler
